Vitamin D
Vitamins
It is produced by the action of sunlight on the oils in our skin as well as being found in some foods. A supplement may be needed by those who spend very little time out of doors. It is needed for the proper use of calcium and phosphorus to maintain strong bones and teeth, and also helps our bodies to use vitamin A efficiently.
VITAMIN C
Vitamins
Vitamin C cannot be made by our bodies so it must be obtained from our food. It is needed for the growth and healthy functioning of body tissues including gums, blood vessels, bones and teeth and helps us use the iron in our food. It is especially helpful in the colder months, when our bodies can use a boost. As a supplement it can be taken either as the active form, Ascorbic Acid, or in buffered form such as Calcium Ascorbate or other mineral ascorbates which some people find easier to digest. Drinking alcohol and smoking use up the vitamin C your body stores. Vegetables are an effective natural source of vitamin C when raw.
Essential Fatty Acids
Supplements
Essential Fatty Acids are the fats our bodies cannot make but require for various functions. Omega-3 and omega-6 are the two essential fatty acids that our body cannot make – omega-9 can be generated by the body. The words that describe these fats are often banded around but rarely understood – ’saturated’, ‘mono-saturated’, etc. Simply, these words refer to the make up of the fat molecule. The way in which the cells are linked and at what point gives the fat its name and level of saturation.
B Complex Vitamins
Vitamins
These are a whole group of vitamins, often referred to as B Complex because they are usually found together in foods. They are needed to convert carbohydrates into energy, to help metabolise fats and protein, and for the functioning of our brains and nerves. They can be taken together in a balanced supplement, but supplements of individual B vitamins are also available to meet particular needs. Our bodies do not store the B vitamins, and as nicotine, caffeine, refined sugars and alcohol have been found to destroy this vitamin group, daily supplementation is advised.
VITAMIN A
Vitamins
Vitamin A helps maintain healthy skin and eyes, and strong bones and teeth. The best natural sources come from liver, eggs, cheese, yogurt, and most orange, red or yellow fruits and vegetables such as carrots or apricots. A deficiency in zinc or iron in your diet could depress your vitamin A levels. Pregnant women and those who wish to become pregnant should not take Vitamin A supplements except on the advice of a doctor or antenatal clinic.

IM90 Multivitamin Immune Formula
Vitamins
What is IM90 Multivitamin Immune Formula?
It is a carefully researched product that has been formulated with the purpose of supporting the immune system. Our immune systems, when working efficiently, are finely tuned “machines’, assisting the body in staying in top condition. Research has highlighted some important contributing factors that can affect the immune system. By supporting a balanced diet with IM90 you could really help maintain and support a strong immune system.
G&G’s IM90 contains a full range of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Amongst these are Acidophilus to supplement the bowel flora, Aloe Vera (as a 200x concentrate) and Atriplex, the biblical herb which contains trace minerals. There is also a larger amount of Vitamin C (with Bioflavonoids), B5 (Pantothenic Acid) and Biotin than in comparable products. The line-up is completed with a full range of macro-minerals and trace minerals. Trace minerals act as catalysts in enzyme production.
The IM90 Formula
The key nutrients that help support the immune system include; vitamins A, C and E, vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid), necessary for the production of antibodies; Choline, helps the liver in its role as a detoxifier; vitamins B12 and Folic Acid, necessary for cell production; vitamin B3 (Niacin), aids the digestive system; Iron, works on blood cells and helps build resistance; Zinc, necessary for cell production, enzyme and other body processes; the B vitamins are also important in the release of energy from food. Many of these nutrients work better with other allied nutrients, hence balanced diet is always the watchword. Some people on restricted diets may require additional supplementation.

Trans-Resveratrol
Supplements
Resveratrol (trans-resveratrol) is a phytoalexin produced naturally by several plants when under attack by pathogens such as bacteria or fungi.
Resveratrol is found in the skin of red grapes and is a constituent of red wine, but apparently not in sufficient amounts to explain the French Paradox. Resveratrol has also been produced by chemical synthesis and is sold as a nutritional supplement derived primarily from Japanese knotweed.
Resveratrol is currently a topic of numerous animal and human studies into its effects. The effects of resveratrol on the lifespan of many model organisms remain controversial, with uncertain effects in fruit flies, nematode worms, and short-lived fish. In mouse and rat experiments, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, blood-sugar-lowering and other beneficial cardiovascular effects of resveratrol have been reported. Most of these results have yet to be replicated in humans. In the only positive human trial, extremely high doses (3–5 g) of resveratrol in a proprietary formulation have been necessary to significantly lower blood sugar.Despite mainstream press alleging resveratrol’s anti-aging effects, there is little present scientific basis for the application of these claims to mammals.

Vitamin C and Your Immune System
Vitamins
The wonderful vitamin C is an essential nutrient for the human body as well as being a powerful anti-oxidant, lessening oxidative stress. We need it in our diet, and a lack of vitamin C famously causes scurvy.
It does not seem to “cure” colds and flues but rather lessens the effects and also helps prevent them to begin with.
The reason vitamin C is good for your immune system is that it helps in the production of certain proteins. It helps build the basic building blocks of our bodies.
If you were stranded on an island and could only take one vitamin with you. Vitamin C would be the one to take.
